Happy New Year Motocross !!!Mesquite Motocross held their "New Year's Race" on December 31st 2011 under beautiful skies and perfect temperatures for racing !!! 
As always Jason, Jena & the whole crew at Mesquite MX had it going on for this fabulous race. The track was prepped perfectly again, like you have come to expect at one of the southwest's premier motocross facilities. Home of the "World Mini's" & the famous "Thanksgiving Winter Nationals", Mesquite Motocross Park is definitely one of them.
I want to thank Jena and Jason for letting me out next to the track to get all the pics of these great riders & have such a FUN time. 
So the next race at Mesquite Motocross Park will be Saturday, January
21st for the first round of the 2012 "Casino Town Series", which I am
really looking forward to.

Chewch's Photo PledgeWhen you're out on the track things can happen in a split second. Being in the right place at the right time can make all the difference in the world when you're photographing motocross. I have raced before and started taking MX pictures in the late 70's, so I have some insight into this great sport. In fact the best sport in the world (IMHO). The action happens so fast that every picture is not going to be perfect by any means. But I try to make every shot the best I can whether it's straight out of the camera or with a little post processing. Some of the other guys use online photo sites like smugmug or flicker and such where the pictures you purchase are just printed straight from the original's with no human intervention or maybe they give YOU some very basic adjustments. Or they have a trailer at the track where they're paid for and printed right in front of you with most likely a printer similar to the one you have at home. Even Wal-Mart uses better printers for their one hour printing.
That doesn't happen here at ChewchMX.com. With every photograph you purchase I pledge to make sure that it looks as good as I
can possibly make it. From being centered & cropped to making sure
the colors & white balance are correct, I personally do every single photo. All photos from 4x6's to 24x36" posters are sent to one of the premier photo labs in the country used by many of today's top sports photographers, using top of the line real PHOTO printers. Scary FunThe opening race of the 2011-12 season at Mesquite Motocross Park was held on Saturday, October 29th in beautiful Mesquite. The weather also cooperated for a great day of racing. 
For this season opening race, Jason had the track running in the opposite direction from last year. Running in this direction is perfect for me as it makes for some really cool pictures. 
And as we've all come to know is that Mesquite MX was prepped to perfection!!! The whole crew did a great job and big props to them!!! There are some BIG races scheduled for Mesquite Motocross this racing season starting off with the huge "Thanksgiving Winter Nationals" November 24 thru 27, 2011. 
I want to thank Jason and especially Jena for letting me out on the track to get these pictures of the awesome riders at Mesquite MX. It's all these people that make this so much fun. THANK YOU ALL !!! 
Being billed as the "Halloween" race, nothing really scary happened unless you consider the amount of fun as scary. Which it was!!! I always have a blast when I get up here which is why I really look forward to Mesquite Motocross opening up for the season.

Last in a SeriesRound 4 of the 2011 "Silver State Fall Series" at Sandy Valley Motocross was held on October 22nd. It was supposed to be round 4 of 6 but unfortunately the last 2 rounds have been canceled!! New management has taken over at SVMX....
The original management is back !!!
We wish nothing but the best for Clark & Kit in their new (old) endeavor. 
Unfortunately according to the Sandy Valley MX web site, they will be closed for the months of November & December. They will be reopening in January 2012... 
I hope to see everybody out there for the 2012 racing season. Here's to some awesome things to come for the new season. To view all the pictures taken at this round of the "Silver State Fall Series".

Vets, Vets, VetsOnce again Boulder City MX brought ANOTHER premier event to the Las Vegas area motocross scene !!! This time it was the 1st annual "Vet MX World Cup". Bringing some big time vet riders, big time money & some big time sponsors together for this really cool race.
Bradshaw TWISTIN' The Throttle
It was a lot of fun seeing these riders from motocross' past. Chuck Sun, Doug Dubach and Damon Bradshaw just to name a few. It was even more fun getting to photograph them !!!
The Overall Winner On The Day - Sebastien Tortelli Getting to photograph riders like Tortelli, who I hear hasn't raced in quite a while, along with guys like Sun and Bradshaw who don't race very often is something I'm really glad I got the chance to do. 
I want to thank all the awesome people out at Boulder City Motocross especially Bryce, Bob, Nicholle and everyone else that helps put on these events !!! It's a lot of work and I really, really appreciate them doing this & for letting me get out there to do my thing. 
As usual for an event like this BCMX was prepped absolutely perfect for the start of the racing day. I've said it before but they really do do a good job of prepping their track for race day. They are definitely one of the premier tracks in the whole of the southwestern USA !!!
Boulder City MX is having their 2nd annual 2011 "Hart and Huntington Las Vegas Supercross Privateer Challenge" on November 12th & for the amateurs the 13th. If this race is anything like last year it will be a very good time. Click HERE to get more information on this race. I hope to see everyone out supporting one of our local tracks soon !!!
